Here is testimony of a former volunteer of Greenhill from 2003-2004. They've recently had a negative experience, and this is what they sent to me. They want to be anonymous now, but will testify in court about this if necessary.
"The actions of GH today seem to be just a continuation
of their actions over the years--just some new faces. I am very sorry
for that. I was a volunteer in 2003 & 2004
at Greenhill, and finally quit because of the cruelty and excessive
killing. Another volunteer quit a week after I did for the exact same
reason--she couldn't stand all the unnecessary killing.
A dog was
brought back to GH because it had jumped out of a second story window
when the new owner left the house; GH killed the dog. A dog (named KC)
had "food aggression", and a wonderful couple wanted desperately to
adopt this friendly, sweet dog & promised to get a trainer to help
with his "food aggression"; GH killed him. A dog (named Jesse) was
brought to GH by EPD after his owner was arrested for animal cruelty;
Jesse was a sweet, wonderful, affectionate dog, but he was terrified of
men in hats. He was such a joy to walk and hang out with. When GH
decided it was time to neuter him, Theresa and a MALE staff member with a
HAT ON, entered his kennel. Jesse was so afraid that he growled &
barked; he did not bite or make any contact; GH killed him.
decided that a beloved Schnauzer mix had too much separation anxiety; GH
killed him. A medium size sweet dog was brought back after the parents
had let their children ride the poor thing. The dog had a dislocated
hip, but rather than seek medical care, GH killed the dog. A 9 WEEK OLD
PUPPY (mix, fluffy black long fur, no pit) was ruled "incorrigible"
while his staff member foster mom waited outside for the verdict; GH
killed that PUPPY! A small dog that was one of 29 brought in from a
hoarding situation in eastern Oregon was killed by GH because she was so
scared that she wouldn't let anyone touch her. There might have been
other dogs killed in this 29, but I only know for sure about this one.
In their newsletter, Johnnie stated that GH found loving homes for all
29 dogs; when I called her on this lie, she ignored me. When I
complained to Randi about a volunteer rabbit worker very roughly
throwing a bunny into an outside enclosure, she said I probably didn't
see what I thought I did!"
